In Concert at Theatre Three: Avenue E by Turtle Creek Chorale's Encore!
Special Guest Performances by Amy Stevenson and Jenny Thurman |
| Theatre Three and The Turtle Creek Chorale announced details today of an upcoming special event, AVENUE E, scheduled for the theatre's Quadrangle facility. TCC's small group ensemble, ENCORE! under the direction of long-time T3 Musical Director, TERRY DOBSON will perform an evening of Broadway show tunes with Special Guests JENNY THURMAN, AMY STEVENSON and Dallas PUMP!, Youth First Texas’ GLBT youth chorus, directed by DR. JONATHAN PALANT.
The one-night only event will take place on Wednesday evening, June 10, 2009 at 7:30pm on the mainstage at Theatre Three. The musical evening will include selections from such current and past Broadway productions as AVENUE Q, RENT, WICKED, LISTEN TO MY HEART, ST. LOUIS WOMAN, A DAY IN HOLLYWOOD, SOUTH PACIFIC, THE MAGIC SHOW, THE 1940s RADIO HOUR, PERSONALS, THE PRODUCERS and SPRING AWAKENING. Tickets for this event are $15 each for general admission seating and can be purchased by calling the Theatre Three Box Office at 214.871.3300. T3 Box office hours are noon – 6pm, seven days a week. About Turtle Creek Chorale: Dallas' internationally renowned, 200 voice male chorus, THE TURTLE CREEK CHORALE is under the leadership of Artistic Director, DR. JONATHAN PALANT. The Chorale presents a Subscription Concert Series each year at it's home, The Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center. TCC was recently invited to perform at several prestigious concert venues in Spain during the summer of 2010. About Encore!: ENCORE! is the 12 voice, small group ensemble that is a significant component of the TCC's mission, which is to Educate, Entertain, Unite and Uplift. After a seven year hiatus, ENCORE! is once again under the direction of TERRY DOBSON. The ENCORE! singing membership includes; STEVEN THOMAS, J.B. HOLMAN, NEIL OXFORD, COLLIN CURTIS, KALE SISSON, LESLIE FRYE, ROB MASTERS, CHAD DINGMAN, ROY LIERMAN, MICHAEL SCOTT RAINES and MICHAEL CARRILLO. About The Special Guest Performers: AMY STEVENSON has been singing and entertaining audiences since she joined her Baptist Church Choir at the age of three. She has been involved in the DFW theatre community for many years. She recently appeared as Madame de la Grande Bouche in Beauty and the Beast at Bass Hall in Ft. Worth. Other favorite shows include: A, My Name is Alice, Chicago, Make Me a Song and Songs for a New World. Amy enjoys being a schoolteacher during the week. She has performed several cabaret shows in New York City and can currently be seen every Monday Night as the hostess of Mama's Party. JENNY THURMAN, a Fort Worth actress/singer, is best known for her award winning portrayal of country legend Patsy Cline in the musical revues Always…Patsy Cline and Just a Closer Walk with Patsy Cline. Jenny brings not only a touch of country, but song styling reminiscent of Judy Garland and Barbra Streisand. Jenny has appeared onstage at Dallas' Theatre Three, The Contemporary Theatre of Dallas, Casa Manana, Circle Theatre, Uptown Players, WaterTower Theatre, Theatre Arlington, Shakespeare in the Park, Southwest Playhouse, and the Oklahoma Shakespeare Festival.
